Month Celebration

This project was a deeply rewarding journey into cultural storytelling through motion. My goal was to create a piece that felt inclusive of the diverse traditions within Native American communities, which led me to the powwow—a powerful symbol of unity and shared heritage.

I chose to focus on the Fancy Shawl dancers, as their incredibly dynamic movements and elaborate, vibrant regalia offered the perfect subject for animation. By setting these expressive performances against a minimalist black background, I was able to strip away distractions and truly highlight the fluidity, rhythm, and intricate detail of the dance, attempting to bring the spirit of the powwow to the forefront of the visual experience.
